Enjoy much brighter, vibrant and full of life picture with LG’s recently announced high-end television set known as 55EM9600. LCD…LED…and now it is time of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) Screen, this can offer brighter and crispy colors to the picture because the pixels in your OLED TV light up separately. Previously, OLED TVs were available only in 11- and 15-inch screen sizes but this time; LG has unveiled its unique 55-inch models at CES in January. Uniqueness is not limited to its screen size only, but LG 55EM9600 is also equipped with exclusive features like only 0.157 inch thick and the whole TV weighs just 10 kg. Actually, LG 55EM9600 comes without an extra backlight unit, which is usually needed in LED TVs to deliver a very high contrast and deep blacks. Considering this, LG 55EM9600 is the thinnest TV we've ever heard of, even it is about half as thick as of its rival model (Samsung's OLED TV). Another best thing is that LG integrates a durable covering of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics into the rear of the television, for the safety and security of the TV. LG fans will be glad to know that 55EM9600 is based on LG Display's Oxide-TFT white-OLED with color filters (RGBW) OLED panel instead of common RGB OLED panels. This 55" Full-HD OLED TV model also features the FPR passive 3D, 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio and fast response time (1,000 times faster than LCD according to LG). Till date, price and release date of 55EM9600 model is not available, but it is expected that it will arrive in Europe "well before Christmas" and it will be priced around €8,000 (about $10,000).
