Inspiration Works Kurio: Specs of Kids' Tablet

UK-based tablet maker, Inspiration Works appears to be a part of the competition of making Android tablets that are planned for children. Kurios, tablets for children were seen at this year's London Toy Fair. These tablets are expected to be launched in UK in July and come covered in a detachable protective case for protecting it from minor bumps. Kurios tablets will come in three screen sizes such as 7-inch, 8-inch, and 9-inch version. These tablets will be available with the price tag of £150 (approximately $233), £180 (about $279.99), and £200 (around $311) respectively.

The 7-inch version contains an 800×480 resolution, the 8-inch has an 800×600 resolution, and 9-inch comes with a 940x600 resolution. The 8-inch and 9-inch variant will include a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front facing camera. The 7-inch version will only contain a 0.3MP front-facing camera. All tablets will run on newest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Kurios tablets will have complete access to the Android Market and Google's own suite of services.

These tablets will be featured with a children-friendly custom UI and software that will let parents to deal with up to eight diverse accessibility profiles, and set the level of freedom their children have by limiting the access of certain characteristics on the tablet. Processor or memory specs of these tablets are not disclosed yet but it is expected that all tablets will come with 4GB of internal storage, USB and HDMI ports, an SD card slot, and will support 1080p playback on an external display.
