Honeywell is one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance image and laser based data collection hardware. The company has recently unveiled its first mobile device powered by an Android operating system. The device has been named as the Honeywell Dolphin 7800. The company calls it an Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA), which may also be called a tablet PC in general language. It is a rugged handheld computer, which enables fast and accurate data capture and navigation. This feature makes it an ideal device for a sales representative or delivery driver whose usual working day involves visiting various clients and customers. The device runs dual boot operating system between Android OS and Google Chrome OS. The gadget has a light weight and compact design along with powerful processor and network connections. It flaunts a 3.5 inch VGA display with full QWERTY keypad just below the screen. A big Scan button is given to directly scan the documents through the built-in camera. For providing service and transportation with better accuracy, the ServiceACE application has been included along with TransportACE and RouteACE. The security features of the device permit companies to secure a lost device from a remote location. The Remote MasterMind 3.0 device management software allows businesses to enroll and configure devices, track company assets and impose strong password protection. Honeywell Scanning & Mobility signed a patent agreement with Microsoft, providing wide coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for Honeywell’s products that run Android or Chrome OS. |
