Gigabyte S1080: New Windows 7 tablet with USB 3.0 and optical drive dock

A new Windows 7-based tablet PC, Gigabyte S1080 has been released by Gigabyte at Computex's pre-show event. Gigabyte S1080 is featured with some impressive specs, functions and multiple connectivity options. It comes with a USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 and an optical drive dock, a rare sight on docking stations. Gigabyte S1080 contains a 320GB hard drive (2.5 inches, 5400rpm, SATA), an Intel Atom N570 processor, and 2GB of DDR3 RAM, along with a 14.94mm-thick chassis housing a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD.

Gigabyte S1080 also features 1.3 megapixel webcam, SD card reader, RJ-45 jack, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and 3.5G modem. The tablet comes with a 4,000 mAh battery along with an optional extra 2.700 mAh battery. Users will be allowed to connect audio speakers, three USB 2.0 ports VGA output, and audio line-in by the multimedia dock of Gigabyte S1080. Weight of Gigabyte S1080 is 895 grams. It is expected that Gigabyte S1080 Tablet will be released in the United States in June with a price tag of approximately $700.
