Garmin Corporation, world's largest maker of GPS devices has entered to the Indian mass market with the launch of two new devices. These gadgets called the nuvi 40LM and 50LM were launched on May 14, 2012. The best thing about these gadgets is it’s free for lifetime upgrade offer. So if a big mall or a public park is built near your surrounding, you don’t need to worry about the new maps and pay for it. It’s absolutely free.

The nuvi 40LM boasts a 4.3 inch display and nuvi 50LM has a 5 inch large screen display. The devices have been priced at 8450 and 9990 rupees respectively. The devices will also be equipped with free maps of Malaysia and Singapore that are two of the most visited holiday spots for Indians. Indian accent will also be in-built in the devices. Moreover, voice guidance in Hindi will further help in popularizing the devices. Many more features are integrated in the devices. The ‘Junction View’ feature helps drivers avoid last minute maneuvers. 'Lane Info' feature guides to the proper lane for navigation and ‘Highway Mode’ tells the approaching exist on a highway. The 'Text-to-speech' feature speaks street names in English but in the Indian accent. Some other features like ‘House Search’ and ‘Go To Home/ Office’ are also available on both devices.
