India's 'cheapest' Android smartphone – Jivi JSP 20 is available to buy right now only from Amazon India at the price of just Rs 1,999 in two color options.
Indian handset manufacturer, Jivi has launched the cheapest Android smartphone in India targeted at the feature phone users – Jivi JSP 20 and it comes with the ultra-affordable price tag of Rs 1,999 only. This 3.5-inch dual-SIM Android phone is also the slimmest in its class, and it supports 6 different languages, plus available in Black and White color options. Currently, Jivi JSP 20 is available for pre-order, exclusively on Amazon.in, and it will start shipping from September 25. Looking at its decent specs and features list, this smartphone would definitely be a stiff challenger to the other such low-cost smartphones available in the Indian market. Go through here the review of Jivi JSP 20 smartphone, so that you can clearly know how it differs from its competitors in the market and why it is worth buying.
Jivi JSP 20 smartphone specs in detail:
Design and display
Jivi JSP 20 is a slim and sleek phone, only 9.4 millimetres in thickness, and features a display of 3.5 inches (resolution of 320 x 480 pixels) with mediocre viewing angles, good clarity and moderate colors. It is much suitable for the basic tasks like browsing the web, and others without any complexity. The attractive chrome finish on the sides adds a touch of classiness and charm to the technological edge it provides. One of the most remarkable features of the handset is the presence of the OGS (One Glass Solution) display panel which uses a layer of Indium Tin Oxide to reduce the thickness of the panel. The integration of the OGS technology makes the Jivi handset the first one in this class to come with such as a panel that will make the screen quick to respond.
Processor and RAM
The processor used in the new Jivi device is a 1 GHz single core unit, which helps you to download and run different software applications without any bother. The smartphone has a 128 MB RAM and a 256 MB ROM. This phone supports up to 32 GB of additional storage in order to store all your photos, videos, songs, and other media.
Battery and operating system
The Jivi JSP 20 phone has 1350mAh Li-ion battery that doesn’t need repeated charging, also after mixed media usage. The handset runs on the pretty outdated Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread platform, while the other Android devices in this price range are fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat with more resources.
Camera and connectivity options
The phone sports 2 MP rear camera with LED flash to capture bright and crystal clear images even in the dark. However, the drawback is that the phone misses out on a front-facing selfie camera that can make video calls. These camera features make the phone a weak challenger in terms of photography capabilities, but they are acceptable taking into account its price factor. Connectivity wise, the features include 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that are very common, plus it has support for GSM + GSM dual-SIM operation. 3G isn't available, but EDGE and GPRS are offered. The handset is aimed at the Indian audience with built in support for up to six languages – English, Hindi, French, Tamil, Urdu, and Telugu.
The pricing of Jivi JSP 20 is very low, means it is suitable for the price conscious consumers too. Although it is the cheapest Android device selling at a price similar to Firefox, many compromises have been made. There are a number of preloaded applications and features, but lack of 3G, latest Android version, and front camera. Jivi JSP 20 would compete with other Android smartphones – Intex Aqua T2 and Celkon Campus A35K, as well as the Firefox OS based smartphones – Intex Cloud Fx and Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1.
