US PC maker Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has bought chipmaker Intrinsity for an undisclosed sum in a move to boost its competitiveness in the mobile devices market, various media including the New York Times, Financial Times and Reuters wrote, saying Apple has confirmed the deal. Apple had completed the acquisition of the Texas-based firm last month but unveiled it Tuesday, the New York Times and Financial Times said. According to media reports and analysts' estimates, Apple has paid around USD120m (EUR90.7m) for the Austin-based semiconductor company. The PC giant has not commented on the figure. The acquisition has been rumoured for several weeks.
