You have ever heard the famous name Yang Yong-eun, or Y. E. Yang, is a South Korean professional golfer. And he is the 2009 PGA Championship winner and was born on 15 January 1972.

The Korea Open, an Asian Tour event, Y.E Yang won in 2006 and he also got the entry into the HSBC Champions Tournament in November 2006 because of this big victory. Y.E Yang also won this tournament, beating a strong field including Tiger Woods who was second. The membership of the European Tour earned by him due to this victory and he stood into the top forty of the Official World Golf Rankings.

After earning his card through qualifying school, in 2008 he played on the PGA Tour. In his 46th career start in the United States, Yang won his first event on the PGA Tour at the 2009 Honda Classic. He became the second Korean to win on the PGA Tour after K.J. Choi.

Recently, his first major championship was on 16th August 2009 and Yang won the 91st PGA Championship overcoming a two-shot deficit going into the final round to finish three strokes ahead of Tiger Woods.

The victory was the first major championship for a male player born in Asia, the previous best being the 3rd place achieved by Choi in the 2004 Masters Tournament. After holding at least a share of the lead at the end of 54 holes, it was also the first time that Woods had failed to win a major.

Personal Life of Y.E Yang:

In Jeju-do, Yang was born and his first job was of a nightclub waiter. At the age of 19, he started to play golf, when a friend suggested him then he try hitting balls at a local driving range. And also only at the little age of 21, he began mandatory service in the South Korean military. He moved to New Zealand, where he followed a professional career in golf. Yang is married, and has three children.
