Why Are Most Pool Tables Green?

Pool Table is a bounded table on which billiards-type games are played. Today, all billiards tables like carom billiards, pool or snooker have a flat surface usually made of quarried slate, that is covered with green cloth and surrounded by rubber cushions, with the whole elevated above the floor.
The green Color Represents the grass, as it was played on green lawn in earlier days. The fabric is made with woven woo or nylon blend.
Green Woolen fabric is used to slow down balls and preventing them to strike hard with table or jump off from the table.
A typical pool table have 9-foot, 8-foot, or 7-foot size with 2:1 ratio.
