Zach Randolph & Lou Amundson played their first game under new head coach Alvin Gentry, they jumped into an early lead, put up 81 points after halftime, and led by as many as 52 before cruising to the 140-100 win. And in the first quater Zach Randolph beat Phoenix's Louis Amundson to the floor during the fight for a rebound. When Amundson was on the floor, Randolph seemed to taunt him. So Amudson jumped up in to the face of Randolph. In this time Randolph landed a left-handed punch just below Amundson’s right eye.

When Zach Randolph threw fire on Lou Amundson who got him an immediate ejection. After Amundson is out, "says Zach what he does is not cool, and then takes a left hook to the face. After the game Randolph tried to explain their actions. Randolph said Amundson drove into my face and kissed me on my mouth, so I pushed him out of my face. Randolph said with a laugh, if I had hit him he would not have been outside the ground. But Amundson was a clear effect event. Randolph said that he only threw me down and kind of like stepping on me and Amundson said, "I will not withdraw from others, I do not care who you are in this league."
