The world's best and worst Christmas tree’s went on display today as Japan unveiled the most expensive while a threadbare and tatty spectacle was revealed in County Durham.The dazzling 24k gold tree, decorated with more than 240 jewels including diamond baubles and strings of pearls, proves a sharp contrast to the slightly bent version whose branches barely have room for more than a dozen Christmas lights.
It weighs more than 21 kilograms and is worth 150million yen - or £1million.
