His coach Peter Kostis might beg to differ, but Paul Casey says he has no problem playing in Houston the week before the Masters. He was so taken with the reception he got on the way to his first US Tour victory in the Houston Open last year, he donated $100,000 (£67,000) to local charities. But Kostis remembers the emotion of victory leaving his man drained at Augusta National and worries about that happening again. Casey said: 'I know where he is coming from, for it did affect my concentration, but I'd love to find myself in the same position again. I'd just handle it differently this time.'With four top-10 finishes in four starts in America this year, it is likely the in-form Englishman will get that chance. As for the Masters, there is no doubt his countrymen would vote him favourite to end a drought stretching back to Sir Nick Faldo's epic victory at Augusta in 1996. |
