Trent Richardson Signs With Alabama Consensus five star running back Trent Richardson picked Alabama as his college of choice. He announced he would join the Crimson Tide at a press conference Wednesday afternoon at Escambia High School where he donned a houndstooth hat to punctuate his choice.Richardson is considered one of the best running backs in the country as ESPN, Rivals and Scout rank him highly. Richardson was ranked the top running back by ESPN, the second best running back by Rivals and the second best running back by Scout.

Richardson has the strength to pound between the tackles and the perimeter speed to turn the corner and go the distance.Richardson committed to Alabama during the summer, but took visits to SEC rivals like Florida and LSU. The Richardson sweepstakes picked up during the last three weeks with Florida’s Urban Meyer spending six hours wooing the recruit. Rumors swirled throughout the last week with Florida, LSU and Alabama each leading depending on the day of the week.Richardson did not reveal his decision which is scheduled for this afternoon at a press conference. However, his words will no doubt be parsed more than anyone not involved in politics.
