Now here comes Lawrence Taylor into the headlines, coming fast from the outside the way he used to come on the quarterback's blind side. Now it is Lawrence Taylor, as great as the Giants or anybody else in pro football ever had, being charged with solicitation, a misdemeanor, and the main event on top of that, a Class E felony, sex with a 16-year old New York City runaway in a Holiday Inn. His lawyer says that Taylor didn't have sex with anybody, his wife says it is all a set-up. No one is convicting Taylor of anything, not before the day is out, not even after his arraignment late Thursday afternoon, the official charges against him stated in open court, the posting of a $75,000 bond. |
