A Berry More Than Ready to Be Picked

Several NFL executives and personnel men were queried by me this week on the tools and talents of Tennessee safety Eric Berry (above). This was a sampling of the findings:

"Wish I could find a hole in him. ... Hard to imagine getting a better guy whose great talent is matched by great character ... If he's there when we pick in the top seven, he won't get by us ..."

Attraction? In football equivalents, Eric Berry is Halle Berry.

But then on Wednesday afternoon at an NFL draft/kids' fitness function in Central Park, I ran into Deion Sanders, cornerback extraordinaire and a man who knows a stellar defensive back when he sees one.
