Ultratech Cement to be lead sponsors of Rajasthan Royals

Aditya Birla Group firm Ultratech Cement is set to announce a tie-up with the IPL first edition champions Rajasthan Royals for the second season of the T20 league starting at Cape Town in South Africa on April 18.

Sources said that the cement major would announce the deal on Tuesday at a media conference in Mumbai.

Ultratech would be the lead sponsors of the franchise team owned by Emerging Media, in which Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her boyfriend Raj Kundra had taken a stake with businessman Manoj Badale, they added.

Details of the deal were not immediately known, but the sources said that Ultratech would pump in a substantial amount to further boost its brand image.

Ultratech is already sponsoring a lot of cricket events both in India and abroad. The Aditya Birla Group is a major cement producer having a strong presence in the Western region, including Rajashtan.
