IPL closing Ceremony 2009

IPL Season 2 Closing Ceremony will celebrate on 24th May, 2009 at Wanderers Stadium. The grand finale of Indian Premier League’s 2 assures to be a gala affair with well-known musicians and Bollywood celebrities slated to perform at the Wanderers Stadium.

The closing ceremony is hypothetical to be an interactive event with the in-stadium audience to be a part of the celebrations. The Bollywood stars Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, and Caribbean music legend Eddy Grant and American R&B singing sensation Akon will be joining in the IPL Closing ceremony.

Shilpa Shetty will perform with American R&B sensation Akon as he sings his Grammy award winning ‘Smack That’ in the IPL Season 2 closing ceremony.

Katrina Kaif will join group of Indian and South African dancers lead by award-winning choreographer Shiamak Davar. She performs of the Oscar winning A R Rahman song ‘Jai Ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire. At the same time, Caribbean music legend Eddy Grant will perform the increasingly popular Walking on Sunshine ' and his anti-apartheid hit. This Song became an anthem in the days when the when the white minority government of South Africa severely regulated everything from music and song to social gatherings.

The Celebration will also include performances from famed percussionist Sivamani. The dazzling scene will finish with an appearance ceremony to the Runners-Up and Winners of Season 2009 of the DLF Indian Premier League in South Africa.
