Champions Trophy is canceled by ICCfor 1 year

The International Cricket Council postponed the Champions Trophy tournament in Pakistan Sunday after the teams expressed security concerns and threatened to withdraw if the eight-nation competition was to come.

The ICC Board held a telephone conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before announcing the decision to postpone the tournament 12-28 September - the second largest one-day cricket competition after the World Cup - for a year . There was unanimous agreement for the tournament to be played in October 2009, the ICC President David Morgan said in a statement ICC.
