The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given informal window to IPL for the next 10 years in their Future Tour Programs (FTP). The IPL season 5 organized by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be held after Indian team returns from Australia tour. The IPL Governing Council held a meeting in Hyderabad on Friday to decide about the forthcoming IPL season. The Fifth Edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the most successful sports events in the world will be held in Chennai, starting from 4th April to 27th May in 2012 and the opening ceremony will be held on 3rd April in Chennai. The dates of the tournament ‘DLF IPL 2012’ were confirmed, ten months in advance. The total of 74 matches will be played over a period of 54 days in the tournament. The trading modalities of the auction and player regulation including participation of Pakistani players will be decided by the IPL governing council in the next meeting. There are very small numbers of player who are participated in all three formats as many players are feeling tired. Still the dates of IPL have been not declared. The GC will take final decisions about the IPL and discuss other important issues related to the tournament in the next meeting. The format and structure for the fifth edition IPL 2012 is left on management team of IPL by Governing Council. The various operational items for the IPL season 5 has been approved by the Council which met under the chairmanship of IPL’s new boss Rajiv Shukla. There is no doubt about the fifth season of IPL that it will be more exciting than the earlier seasons. |
