In the fourth quarter of the Vikings vs. Patriots game, Brett Favre left the game against New England because of his chin injury. Myron Pryor of Patriots hit hard on the chin of Brett Favre while passing through mid way.

The injury of Favre creates a big problem for Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings declared that Favre only continued a laceration to his chin though he had to be helped off the field. He got nine stitches to close the gaping gash after being carted off. He pressed his wound with towel and went back in the locker room. When Favre left the field on the cart, he seemed disoriented. Tarvaris Jackson came in place of Favre after his inquiry and threw a short touchdown pass to fullback Naufahu Tahi on the next play.

Now, Brett Favre will be preparing for next game against Arizona Cardinals. “Nobody knows my body like me. There were plenty of times I should’ve been knocked out and wasn’t. I should be ready to play next week.” In the press conference of Vikings' postgame, Favre specified that he plans to play in Week 9, saying "I don't want to make a big deal out of it. I remember everything, unfortunately. But I'll be fine."

In spite of having two small fractures in his left ankle, Favre started his 292nd straight game against the Patriots on 31st October. Favre said, "I really can't complain, although I probably should". "I have a broken foot. I have eight stitches in my chin. I've had tendinitis in my elbow, but I threw it as well as I have all season."

Previously, Brett Favre suffered from knee problems against Green Bay Packers. After the Packers game, Favre went for MRI test. The report of MRI test showed four fractures in his ankle. To know about the status of his ankle, Favre took an appointment of his surgeon. After that, the New England Patriots game was played by him with the knee pain. But, unfortunately during the fourth quarter of the game, he got injury to his chin.

It is believed by Vikings coach Brad Childress that a chance to extend his streak has gotten by 41-year-old QB and wouldn't rule him out for next week's game against Arizona. "Let's have a little history lesson... and you can probably venture a pretty good guess in whether you thought he'd go, you know. I think, probably, he takes a swing at it next week. What do you think?" Favre completed 22 of 32 for 259 yards passing and one interception before being knocked out of the game. New England Patriots win with 28-18 against Minnesota Vikings in their week 8 game of NFL regular season 2010.
