New York Yankees drop second game of Phillies series as Jamie Moyer outduels A.J. Burnett in Bronx

A.J. Burnett gave up six runs Wednesday night, but the lowest point of his loss to the Phillies had nothing to do with any of them.

Burnett's failure to cover first base in the fourth inning on what turned out to be his final pitch was the perfect snapshot of the righthander's night, as he looked lost during his 3-1/3 innings in the Yankees' 6-3 loss to the Phillies.

Philadelphia didn't need to do any damage after Burnett left the game, as 47-year-old lefty Jamie Moyer became the oldest pitcher ever to beat the Yankees, using an arsenal that consisted of soft, softer and softest.
