Joe Girardi played Tuesday night's game under protest after watching Boston conduct what he felt was a questionable pitching change, but there were plenty of things for the Yankees' manager to protest following a disastrous loss - namely his own team's defense and bullpen.

The Red Sox scored six runs in the final two innings, erasing a four-run Yankee lead before hanging on for a 7-6 win over the Bombers. At 4 hours, 9 minutes, it was the longest nine-inning game in the majors this season, according to STATS LLC.
