Asian Games 2010 Medal Tally

Asian Games 2010 Medal Tally

The 16th Asian Games is one of the largest events in history of the Games with total of 476 events in 42 sports. Since 2008 Beijing Olympics, China staged as biggest sporting gala in the world. Beijing is the first city in China to host the Games in the year 1990 while Guangzhou is the second one. 53 competition venues and 17 training venues are arranged for the Games, with four venues held outside the Guangdong region.

Total of 91 Gold medals will be awarded in which 47 Gold medals at stake for Athletics and 44 for shooting. 52 gold medals will be awarded for Aquatics event which will see teams and individuals. The first gold medal of this season was won by China in Changquan title in Wushu. Yuan Xiaochao of China won the gold medal for China.

The first silver medal was fetched by Indian Shooters, Sanjeev Rajput, Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang for India. Indian weightlifter Srinivasa Rao Balluri of India won the gold medal in the weightlifting in the ongoing Asian Games 2010. Sukhen Dey also took the Silver in 10 meter Rifle event for India.

Taiwan won its first medal on the second day of the Asian games. Taiwan’s Hsiao Mei-yu won the silver medal for Taiwan. Lee Wai Sze of Hong Kong won gold with 33.945 seconds while Guo Shuang of China won silver.

China is on top with five gold medals, three silver medals in the Asian Games 2010 Medal Tally while India is on second spot with one gold medal and three silver medals. Japan is on third spot with one gold medal two silver medals and two bronze medals.
