There's nothing better than smooth, silky skin, especially on your wedding day (and honeymoon!). With so many options for going bare out there, which one is right for you?

Shaving

Shaving naturally exfoliates your skin, and is a quick and easy way to remove hair on the legs, underarms and bikini area. The downside to shaving is that, depending on the color and coarseness of your hair, you may need to shave every day to keep your skin smooth.

The most common form of hair removal, shaving requires little more than a razor and shaving cream. But it's the quality of the razor and cream that will make a real difference in your shaving experience.

For razors, the rule of thumb is, the more blades, the better. Look for a triple- or quadruple-bladed razor with a pivoting head, and remember to change the blade after a few uses. Shaving foams and lotions are mostly a personal preference, but avoid products with strong fragrances or citrus oils, which can irritate skin.

Make sure you soften your hair with warm water for a few minutes in the shower or tub before shaving, but don't soak for so long that your skin swells up around the hair follicles. If your skin is sensitive, shave in the direction of hair growth.

If you suffer from ingrown hairs, which are caused when a cut hair curls back into the skin, apply an exfoliating cream with glycolic acid after shaving.
