Noodling - Fishing for Catfish with Hands

Noodling is fishing (activity to catch fish) for Catfish with Hands. It is common activity of southern United States in which, noodler put his bare hand in the hole of Catfish. In different places, Nooding of Catfish is called as tickling, hogging, graveling, gurgling, grabbling, stumping, etc. If the noodler catches the fish other than catfish and put his hand in the hole then it becomes very dangerous.

This is activity of catching the catfish without using rod and reel therefore high degree of risk is associated with it. Noodler may suffer from common injuries. Danger of drowning can not be avoided in it because noodler may not be able to swim up to the surface with carrying a big catfish. Spawning season of spring is best time for noodling. Catfish can be found out in hollowed rocks, under old boat ramps, etc. Noodling is legal only in the five states of 50 United States, in other states this activity is considered as illegal activity.
