With weddings so expensive, one of the first things brides and grooms do to keep down their costs is limit their guest lists. And some couples just want a small, intimate wedding rather than an event of 300+ that has them table-hopping to greet all their guests during the first two hours of their reception.

So, with the couple's wish for a smaller guest list, how do you get YOUR people invited? This has been a huge, tense issue between couples and their parents for ages, and it still rages on whether or not you're paying for the wedding. After all, if there's only room (literally) in the room for 100 people, and you want 30 of your own friends and colleagues there, the bride and groom wonder how they'll be able to invite all of their own friends and colleagues. Anxiety mounts, tempers are lost, and you're hearing yourself saying mean things to the son or daughter you love so much. This topic makes people lose it.

So how do you get your people on the list? First, make your list. Longtime friends, colleagues, neighbors, your hairstylist, your tennis partners.
