Q. Are fresh flowers sanitary on a wedding cake?

A. While there are some flowers that aren't safe to eat, there are lots of blooms that are perfectly fine to consume. Chances are, though, you won't actually be eating any of the real flowers decorating your wedding cake, but if you are concerned about hazardous flowers, check with your florist. He or she will know which blooms are safe.

If dirt is your main concern, rest assured that florists don't just throw flowers straight from the garden onto your wedding cake. Each flower and petal is carefully washed and dried before it comes in contact with your wedding cake.
