In the new hit “Toy Story 3,” cowboy Woody and his past-their-prime peers get the heave-ho when their owner goes off to college. But with the motto “no toy left behind,” the movie shows that even traditional toys can win over tiny hearts. The same is happening at Mary Arnold Toys, one of the few mom-and-pop gems left in New York. Nestled between 72nd and 73rd Sts. on Lexington Ave., the store offers everything from Madame Alexander dolls to time-honored leather baseball mitts. It’s also a sanctuary for parents who can’t stand the hustle and bustle of conglomerate giants like Toys “R” Us. |
