The Dakar Rally is an annual rally raid type of off-road automobile race which is organized by the Amaury Sport Organization. It was previously known as "The Paris-Dakar" or "Paris to Dakar Rally". In the previous year’s rally was run in South America (i.e. Argentina and Chile).

It was the first time that the race took place outside of Europe and Africa and returned to South America in the year 2010. This race is open to part-time and expert entries where part-time typically make up about 80% of the participants. In the year 2010, the rally’s route is Buenos Aires-Antofagasta-Buenos Aires.

The route for the 32nd edition of the Dakar Rally has been started in Buenos Aires on Jan 1 and it will end in the Argentine capital on Jan 16.
