Wikipedia is reliant on volunteer editors and contributors to maintain its crowd-sourced online encyclopedia. In order to encourage more editors, the site is launching a "love" button so that readers can flag the articles they enjoy the most.
Wikipedia announced Friday that it's currently testing the feature and will roll it out to the entire site on Wednesday, June 29. Citing a survey of Wikipedia editors, the company said a majority of people edit more frequently when they feel appreciated. As the digital pages of Wikipedia continue to be filled, editors are praised by commentors less and less, but are criticized and corrected more frequently.
