Bajaj Auto had announced that it will launch a Nano-competitor in the market in alliance with Renault-Nissan. Here’s the latest bit of buzz emerging from the Bajaj-Renault-Nissan ULC camp. The Ultra Low Cost developed by this tripartite alliance will reportedly sport a stunningly cheap price tag of INR 1.10 Lakh.
Carlos Ghosn made this statement publicly at Renault-Nissan’s Annual General Meeting on Friday, amidst a stunned audience and here’s what he had to say. The company had repeatedly affirmed that its plans to launch the car are on track. Now, in a recent announcement, Bajaj Auto stated that it will launch the car with a price tag of Rs. 1.1 lakh ex-showroom. “In India, Renault and Nissan are developing an ultra low cost vehicle with the Bajaj group, benefiting from its expertise in the light vehicles and the knowledge of the Indian market. We are aiming for a price of $2,500,” said Renault chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn at the annual general meeting of Renault. Bajaj Auto chairman, Rajiv Bajaj also confirmed the pricing and the launch of the car in the Indian market. |
