The Samsung hopes that this new service will ultimately compete with Facebook and it will be accessible on a broad range of Internet-enabled devices, as well as cameras, televisions and Blu-ray players. According to the publication, Samsung’s inner title for its new project is “Samsung Facebook.”
Samsung's social network is supposed to build on top of the Amazon's cloud computing platform, to permit users to access the social networking service on any device at anytime and from anywhere. Samsung’s plan is to have such social network span across their lots of consumers having internet ready devices.
As the basis for the social network, Samsung is allegedly using its Family Story software. Family Story is a Samsung application presently on a few Samsung Smart TVs that lets up to 20 family members to chat and share media through cloud-based storage. By the end of this year, we will get a polished and completed version of Family Story that will be provided first to Samsung device users at free of cost.
