The country’s leading electronics manufacturer, Samsung is trying to get into the social networking game; as per the report of The Korea Times. Samsung is preparing its own Facebook-like program which will be released in early next year, possibly in the Q1 of 2013. The Samsung hopes that this new service will ultimately compete with Facebook and it will be accessible on a broad range of Internet-enabled devices, as well as cameras, televisions and Blu-ray players. According to the publication, Samsung’s inner title for its new project is “Samsung Facebook.” Samsung's social network is supposed to build on top of the Amazon's cloud computing platform, to permit users to access the social networking service on any device at anytime and from anywhere. Samsung’s plan is to have such social network span across their lots of consumers having internet ready devices. As the basis for the social network, Samsung is allegedly using its Family Story software. Family Story is a Samsung application presently on a few Samsung Smart TVs that lets up to 20 family members to chat and share media through cloud-based storage. By the end of this year, we will get a polished and completed version of Family Story that will be provided first to Samsung device users at free of cost. Several questions arises related to the new Samsung's new project like - if Samsung could someway magically produce a competitive service - and it is wholly unique and outstanding - at least it won’t name like Samsung Facebook. Then what it would be? Are you ready to give it a try? No matter whatever you consider, Samsung is going to provide it in real. |
