Hello friends, there is a job opportunity in reputed central government organization. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is looking for young, dynamic and dedicated administrative staff for center across India.

Details for Assistant

  • Posts: 148 (UR-84, OBC-34, SC-19, ST-11)
  • Pay Scale: Rs.5200-20200/- Grade Pay Rs.2400/-
  • Age: 26 years as on 07/08/2009 (Relaxation as per rules)
  • Qualification: Graduation with minimum 60% First class, Proficiency in use of computers, A Diploma of one year duration in Computer Applications desirable.

Details for Junior Personal Assistant

  • Posts: 72 posts (UR-47, OBC-13, SC-8, ST-4)
  • Pay Scale: Rs.5200-20200/- Grade Pay Rs.2400/-
  • Age: 26 years as on 07/08/2009 (relaxation as per Govt. of India orders)
  • Qualification: Graduation with minimum 60% marks OR Diploma in Secretarial/Commercial Practice with minimum 60% with minimum of one year experience as Stenographer or equivalent in any Central/ State Govt./ PSU/ Autonomous body/ Pvt. Firm, A minimum speed of 40 w.p.m and 80 w.p.m in English Typing on PC and English stenography respectively.Proficiency in use of computers. A Diploma of one year duration in Computer Applications desirable.

Payment of Application fee : There will be an Application Fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) for every application.

Selection Process:

The qualification prescribed is the minimum obligation and possession of the same does not automatically create applicants qualified for written exam. Based on bio-data, initial showing will be conducted to short-list applicants for taking-up written exam.

Applicants short-listed based on the concert in the written exam /skill test will be called for interview, the schedule and place of which will be intimated later. The written exam will be conducted at 6 places viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Sriharikota and Thiruvananthapuram.

ISRO Scientist Exam Electronics Syllabus: 

This syllabus has a lot of similarity to GATE pattern.

Electronic Devices : Energy bands in silicon, intrinsic and extrinsic silicon.
Carrier transport in silicon: diffusion current, drift current, mobility, resistivity. Generation and recombination of carriers. P-n junction diode, Zener diode, tunnel diode, BJT, JFET, MOS capacitor, MOSFET, LED, p-I-n and avalanche photo diode, LASERs. Device Technology: integrated circuits fabrication process, oxidation, diffusion, ion implanation, photolithography, n-tub, p-tub and twin-tub CMOS process.

Digital circuits : Boolean algebra, minimization of Boolean functions; logic gates digital IC families (DTL, TTL, ECL, MOS, CMOS).
Combinational circuits: arithmetic circuits, code converters, multiplexers and decoders. Sequential circuits: latches and flip-flops, counters and shift-registers. Sample and hold circuits, ADCs, DACs. Semiconductor memories.
Microprocessor (8085): architecture, programming, memory and I/O interfacing.

Controls Systems : Basic control system components; block diagrammatic description, reduction of block diagrams. Open loop and closed loop (feedback) systems and stability analysis of these systems. Signal flow graphs and their use in determining transfer functions of systems; transient and steady state analysis of LTI control systems and frequency response.
Tools and techniques for LTI control system analysis: root loci, Routh-Hurwitz criterion, and Bode and Nyquist plots.
Control system compensators: elements of lead and lag compensation, elements of Proporational-Integral-Derivative (PID) control. State variable representation and solution of state equation of LTI control systems.

Electromagnetics : Elements of vector calculus: divergence and curl; Gauss’ and Stokes’ theorems, Maxwell’s equations: differential and integral forms. Wave equation, Poynting vector. Plane waves: propagation through various media; reflection and refraction; phase and group velocity; skin depth.
Transmission lines: characteristic impedance; impedance transformation; Smith chart; impedance matching; pulse excitation. Waveguides: modes in rectangular waveguides; boundary conditions; cut-off frequencies; dispersion relations.
Antennas: Dipole antennas; antenna arrays; radiation pattern; reciprocity theorem, antenna gain.

Networks : Network graphs: matrices associated with graphs; incidence, fundamental cut set and fundamental circuit matrices. Solution methods: nodal and mesh analysis. Network theorems: superposition, Thevenin and Norton’s maximum power transfer, Wye-Delta transformation. Steady state sinusoidal analysis using phasors. Linear constant coefficient differential equations; time domain analysis simple RLC circuits, Solution of network equations using Laplace transform: frequency domain analysis of RLC circuits. 2-port network parameters: driving point and transfer functions. State equations for networks.

Analog Circuits : Equivalent circuits (large and small-signal) of diodes, BJTs, JFETs, and MOSFETs. Simple diode circuits, clipping, clamping, rectifier. Biasing and bias stability of transistor and FET amplifiers. Amplifiers: single-and multi-stage, differential, operational, feedback and power. Analysis of amplifiers; frequency response of amplifiers. Simple op-amp circuits, Filters. Sinusoidal oscillators; criterion for oscillation; single-transistor and op-amp configurations. Function generators and wave-shaping circuits, Power supplies.

Signals and Systems : Definitions and properties of Laplace transform continuous-time and discrete-time Fourier series, continuous-time and discrete-time Fourier Transform, z-transform. Sampling theorems.
Linear Time-Invariant (LTI) Systems: definitions and properties; causality, stability, impulse response, convolution, poles and zeros frequency response, group delay, phase delay. Signal transmission through LTI systems. Random signals and noise: probability, random variables, probability density function, autocorrelation, power spectral density.

Communications : Analog communication systems: amplitude and angle modulation and demodulation systems, spectral analysis of these operations, super heterodyne receivers; elements of hardware, realizations of analog communication systems; signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) calculations for amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM) for low noise conditions. Digital communication systems: pulse code modulation (PCM), differential pulse code modulation (DPCM), delta modulation (DM); digital modulation schemes-amplitude, phase and frequency shift keying schemes (ASK, PSK, FSK), matched filter receivers, band with consideration and probability of error calculations for these schemes.

Other Conditions / Instructions :

1. No TA will be paid for attending the written test
2. Only Indian nationals need apply

4. The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.
5. ISRO reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the posts, if it so desires.
6. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
7. Canvassing In Any Form Will Be A Disqualification.
8. Applicants called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details equipped in their applications submitted on-line, at the time of interview. If any detail equipped on-line is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed and TA will not be paid.
