Temporary financial assistance provided by Employment Insurance (EI) Canada for unemployed Canadians when they look for work or upgrade their skills. Employment Insurance (EI) Canada assists Canadians who are sick, pregnant or caring for a newborn or adopted child, as well as those who must care for a family member who is seriously ill with a significant risk of death.

Employment Insurance (EI) Canada

In a secure website, Employment Insurance’s service Canada account allows you to access your EI information in one place. When you have a previous or current claim for EI benefits, then you can:

  • View your previous claims for EI benefits
  • View your current EI claim information
  • View payment information on your current claim including deduction details
  • View Records of Employment submitted electronically to Service Canada by your employers
  • View and update your personal information including your mailing address, telephone number and banking information for direct deposit

Access information about employment Insurance online:

To use Service Canada Account you have to get a Government of Canada epass, which includes a user ID and a password. To access your EI information the first time, you will need the following information:

  • Your date of birth
  • Your Province or Territory of residence
  • Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Your Access Code – Mailed to you after you apply for benefits and can be found on the Benefit Statement in the shaded area
