Symptoms and Treatment of Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis is a most common infection that is caused by parasite protozoa. It is also known as trichomonas vaginitis or trich or trichomonas vaginalis. It is a sexually transmitted disease that can affect both men and women and spreads i.e. it mainly through sexual intercourse. But, women are more affected by this disease compared to men. This infection is not life-threatening and is indeed curable.Trichomoniasis spreads through sexual intercourse with an infected person and of course unprotected sex. The symptoms of Trichomoniasis vary in men and women. The symptoms in women are: itching or burning sensation, vaginal redness, and discomfort during intercourse, abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, swelling of the groins and vagina, foul smelling vaginal discharge usually after intercourse and pain during urination. The symptoms in men are: pain during urination, abnormal discharge from penis, pain during intercourse, infection of the prostates and tingling sensation inside the penis.
