The cervix is the lower part of the uterus. It is defined as an unusual development of cells in the cervix. This is an indication of the precancerous or the cancerous growth of cells. The Cervical Dysplasia is differentiated into: low-grade Cervical Dysplasia which grows slowly and heals without any treatment and high grade Cervical Dysplasia which grows quickly and may cause cervical cancer.The cause of Cervical Dysplasia is not known. However, certain risk factors that may lead to Cervical Dysplasia are: HPV infection, smoking, genital warts, multiple sexual partners, early sexual activity, excessive use of birth control pills and certain dietary deficiencies such as carotene, vitamin A, C and E etc. |
