Shaving is a common process that people do to look more clean and hygienic. Razor burns are thus a common occurrence that can affect people. It is usually a skin irritation caused as a result of shaving using razor and creates discomfort to the individual. These burns appear as skin rashes which disappear after some time. Sometimes skin also gets cut during the process of shaving. In some situations, small bumps appear on the skin after shaving. This is mainly due to the irritation of the skin.The main symptoms of razor burns are: redness of skin, skin irritation, swelling or appearance of bumps, burning sensation and scraped skin. The main causes of razor burns include: improper shaving such as shaving in reverse or opposite direction of the hair growth and shaving with excessive pressure, excessive use of razors, and over-use of after shaves or colognes.
