Osteomyelitis-Symptoms and Treatment

Osteomyelitis is usually an infection caused by bacteria to the bones and bone marrow and affects people of all ages. This bone infection is severe and chronic and difficult to diagnose and treat. The infection might be originally in some other part of the body which later spreads to the bones through the blood.
The main cause of Osteomyelitis is the infection which can be caused by either bacteria or fungus. This infection may be due to and injury or surgery or due to poor blood circulation these infections can travel through blood stream and usually affects the spine in older people and longer bones such as thigh bones in children. Hemodialysis, drug abuse and diabetes are the possible risk factors
