Allergic rhinitis refers to the inflammation of the nasal passages and mainly affects the eyes and nose. It is also known as hay fever and nasal allergies. This inflammation is caused mainly when the individual breathes in some allergens such as pollen or dust which results in allergic reactions in the individual.The main causes of allergic rhinitis include: indoor allergens such as dust mites, animal dander, mold and even cockroaches. Outside allergens include: pollen, grass, and tree and ragweed pollen. The initial symptoms of allergic rhinitis are running nose, teary eyes, itching in nose, throat and mouth. The other symptoms are fatigue, headache, stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, clogged ears, puffy eyes and dark circles beneath the eyes. |
