
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away." It's an old saw, but a new article says it's still a good recipe for good health - just throw in some veggies for good balance. We've all learned that diets rich in fruits and vegetables are good for us, and the more colorful the better--more nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants. An editorial in this week's medical journal Lancet endorses the "Eat 5 Fruits and Vegetables a Day" program and says it should be promoted, even though a cancer nutrition study out of Europe claims these diets do not provide as much protection overall against the disease as previously thought . |
