Recipe For Chocolate Sorbet - Chocolate Sorbet Ingredients/Directions

This Chocolate Sorbet is really easy to prepare if you have an ice cream maker. But even if you don't, you can prepare it using a blender,processing the mixture periodically over several hours to prevent ice crystals from forming. Either way, it's a nice, refreshing treat at the end of a summer meal. Bon appetit!
Making time: 30 minutes Makes: 6-7 scoops Shelflife: 2-3 days in freezer
Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups (555 ml) water
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- 3/4 cup (75 g) unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- 6 ounces (170 g) bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
- Put sugar and water to boil.
- When boiling starts, reduce heat, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Take off fire, allow to cool to room temperature.
- Add honey, cocoa powder, reheat, till well mixed, without bringing to a boil.
- Take off fire, add chocolate chips, stir, to dissolve.
- Keep aside to cool completely.
- Set mixture in lidded container in freezer, till softly set.
- Remove from freezer, beat till smooth, but do not allow to melt.
- Return to container, refreeze.
- Beat again, and return to freezer, till well set.
- Serve in small scoops, with grated chocolate curls, chocolate sauce, etc.
