Funeral‎ arrangements of Walter Cronkite

A 92 years old former anchor and managing editor of the "CBS Evening News," Walter Cronkite was died on July 17 2009 at his home in New York after a long illness. The funeral and memorial arrangements of Walter Cronkite had been made at his final resting place in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was buried next to his family plot beside his beloved wife, Betsy in Missouri.

There was a private funeral ceremony for family and friends about 2:00 pm Eastern Time at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City on July 23 2009. This is also the church where Walter Cronkite and his family worshiped.

A separate memorial service will be held within the next month in Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts according to his longtime chief of staff, Marlene Adler. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Walter and Betsy Cronkite Foundation. The foundation was established by the Cronkite's children with the money going to various charities the couple supported during their lives.
