Virgin Mobile to launch GSM mobile services in South India

Virgin Mobile is launching its GSM services in India, beginning with 5 telecom circles in southern India within a week.

To start with, Virgin Mobile will start GSM services in the Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, and Tamil Nadu telecom circles.

Virgin Mobile – which at present operates in the CDMA network in India – said it also plans to start GSM services in the telecom circles of Maharashtra, Orissa, and of North India by March 2010.
