Indie Hollywood starlet Zooey Deschanel will appear in the untitled Fox comedy pilot from writer-producer Liz Meriwether. In the show formerly entitled "Chicks & Dicks," the actress/singer Deschanel would be playing the character Jessica, an optimistic but unlucky-in-love. She is an elementary school teacher who breaks up with her boyfriend and moves out of her apartment with a trio of juvenile guys. This Meriwether project is depicted as a young assembly comedy regarding the sexual politics of men and women in the 21st century. We all miss the R-Rated tone of Meriwether in Fox's news show as her voice in "No Strings Attached", but it still has the potential to be a edgy. Also there is the likelihood that it could turn out to be just one more unremarkable sitcom; however it looks to be a move in the right direction surely by including a charming actress such as Deschanel in the major role. All the best for the success of upcoming show! What do you think about the staring of Zooey Deschanel in this new show? Will you watch it when Fox picks up as a regular season? Through the years, Deschanel’s body of work has been different. She is famous for her film roles like 'Almost Famous', 'Elf' and '500 Days of Summer' (the Oscar-winning movie). She appeared opposite her sibling once on 'Bones' (“The Goop on the Girl”), a short film (Drunk History) and video short (Havin’ a Summah). On Showtime’s Weeds, she had a recurring role and in Syfy’s made-for-TV movie 'Tin Man' as the lead. She also appears on this year’s Sundance flick 'My Idiot Brother', and in the upcoming period action-comedy movie 'Your Highness', scheduled to release in April 2011. |
