Vampire Diaries Episode 13, Children of the Damned is about 'The Flashbacks' of Stefan and Damon. In their flashback they recall the olden times actions that leading to the devastating events that caused the rift in their relationship and were taken by townspeople including their father, Guiseppe Salvatore, and Pearl. In the episode guest stars are James Remar as Guiseppe and Kelly Hu as Pearl.

In the other part of the episode, Bonnie and Ben (guest star Sean Faris) are on dating suddenly frightening turn taken place. Stefan got helped by Elena, when he with Damon race to get the missing journal that related to Elena's ancestor. Now the reason behind Alaric's interest in both the journal and the town's history is learned by Stefan. An old acquaintance has returned to town with an agenda he understands that is discovered by Damon.
