The Linda Vista Hospital was first established in 1904 as a healthcare facility to service employees of the Santa Fe Railroad. In 1937, the newly enlarged hospital became the Linda Vista Community Hospital. In 1991 Linda Vista hospital was closed. There are rumours circulating that the hospital's unusually high death rate was due to mistreatment and abuse.
