Nikki Leaving the T.V. show “The Young and the Restless”
TV’s most recognizable star, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) is leaving the show “The Young and the Restless” as she’s called home since 1979. She loves this soap very much. She has played “the Young and the Restless” show for more than 25 years.
According to the Producer of this no. 1 daytime drama they tried to take their job and shove it after they tried to slash her seven figure salary by forty percent. According to the sources Scott is not arguing the salary portion of the new deal. She wants to be more of a foreground player.
Nikki is disappointed that she has been relegated to backburner status for so long. With the summer months ahead and the show's plans to rely even more heavily on its teen scene, it doesn't look like Scott will have a big storyline any time soon. Scott is being wooed by a rival network, ABC’s “General hospital”. Scott would join the show because there are already has more than enough actresses in Scott's age group.
Neither Y&R nor GH spokespersons would comment on the report that Scott is mulling a leave. The show’s hope of keeping Melody on board hinges on their ability to come up with new ways to save money, without slicing into her salary.

Please don't take Nikki off the show. Without her their won't be a show. It will never be the same, i won't watch anymore.

I can't believe you would even consider taking her off. She has style and grace. Not everything has to be all about the young. The young need to have older role models with business savoy, beauty, and style. Bring her back from the hit and run.
