Naomi Watts to Appear on Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar"

Naomi Watts will appear on Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, a biopic about the life of renowned FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. Previously, it was speculated that Charlize Theron will play as Helen Gandy in the Clint Eastwood‘s J. Edgar but finally the actress has moved on and she is replaced by the Naomi Watts.

Watts had been selected as the first choice for the role however a scheduling clash forced the production to search for another actress. Previously, it was seemed likely that Charlize Theron would play the role but she is moved on to another show 'Snow White and the Huntsman' in which she will be playing the role of evil queen.

As per the report from the deadline, Helen Gandy’s role will be played by the Watts. Helen Gandy was the secretary of J. Edgar Hoover of nearly 54 years. Hoover named her "indispensable" and he trusted on her more than anyone. Being his personal secretary, she worked great behind-the-scenes influence on Hoover and also the inner workings of the Bureau. After the death of Hoover in 1972, she destroyed all of his “Personal File”, including the villainous ones that he used to control his political opponents.

J. Edgar will also star Leonardo DiCaprio as the title character, Arnie Hammer as Clyde Tolson who is Hoover's alleged gay lover, and Ed Westwick as a clean-cut agent tasked with writing Hoover's biography.
