Jay Leno's Farewell at "Tonight Show"Finally, Jay Leno wrapped up his 17-year career as the host of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on May 29, 2009. He thanked those who made his show successful like Monica Lewinsky, Michael Jackson, and Bill Clinton. He took a final jab at his network NBC, which is caught up at the bottom of the ratings among the four major U.S. broadcasters. After leading the stage, he was welcomed with a long-standing applause. He made some jokes related to his leaving from the show. He says that it’s a gamble and “I'm betting NBC will still be around in three months but that's not a given. I'm going to be going to a secluded spot where no one can find me NBC prime time." He says that when we started the show my hair was black and the president was white. Leno also noted that he's "not really leaving" for he will be back in September after a break in the summer. See here Jay Leno's Farewell |
