The first official photos of socialite-turned-actress, Rooney Mara in character as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" remake has been published by the February issue of W magazine, which arrives on newsstands Jan. 25. In fact the photos are not from the movie, although the point of the photo-shoot is to demonstrate Mara's look that is very scrawny, weird hair and shaved eyebrows. Image source: theimproper.com In the crime thriller based on the first book in Stieg Larsson’s bestselling series, Rooney Mara, 25, plays as Lisbeth Salander, a brave genius tormented by a dreadful childhood. With a pierced and tattooed hacker a disgraced journalist teams up to examine the mysterious 40-year-old disappearance of an outwardly privileged young woman. To play the role of computer hacker the actress has allegedly dyed her jet black hair and pierced her nipples and lips. The movie is scheduled to release in December this year. Mara brings an implausible background to the role - she is a child of privilege and wealth, connected to both the Rooney Family that owns the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Mara Family, owners of the New York Giants football team. Rooney Mara said that she locked herself in a room for “a week and read all three books, and decided I really wanted to be Lisbeth, but I thought I had no shot at it….They shot me in the subway in L.A. in full hair and makeup with a motorcycle. Every day they had a new request. On a Monday morning, David called me in, and I said, ‘What do you want me to do to my hair now? I was at the end of my rope. He told me I had the part. I hadn’t even read the script yet.” |
